Che Apalache
Location: Hill Hall, Moeser Auditorium - 3-31-2027 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm (America/New_York) (1 hour)

What do you get when you blend Appalachian bluegrass and old-time music with Latin American folk traditions including flamenco, murga, and candombe? You get Che Apalache’s acclaimed Latingrass! Founder Joe Troop grew up in North Carolina and taught music in Buenos Aires after graduating from UNC. His students became his bandmates: Pau Barjau on banjo, Franco Martino on guitar, and Omar Ruiz-Lopez on mandolin. Rooted in traditions that span continents, the band grew out of a willingness to follow interests across languages, cultures, and traditions. What emerged is a sound shaped by relationships, shared experiences, and a genuine openness to learning from one another. Student tickets always $11. Eligible for CLE.
