Max Zorin is a celebrated violinist known for his career as a performer, educator, and artistic leader. Praised for his “extremely compelling” interpretations by The Strad and described as “simply magnificent” by Strings Magazine, Zorin has performed at major venues like Tchaikovsky Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Henan Art Center. He has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as the Saint Petersburg State Orchestra and Odessa Philharmonic, and participated in prestigious festivals including the Granada International and Aspen Music Festivals.
As an advocate for expanding the violin repertoire, Zorin has premiered contemporary works and explored cross-genre collaborations. His music video of Mack the Knife for violin and jazz trio won the Emerging Artist Award at the Global Music Awards. His upcoming album, Connections (Navona Records), features works by underrepresented composers.
A dedicated educator, Zorin is Associate Professor of Violin at Penn State University and has taught worldwide. As Artistic Director of the Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves in Bordeaux, France, he curates masterclasses and cultural events. Born in Israel to a musical family, Zorin studied with legendary mentors like Dorothy DeLay and Peter Oundjian, earning degrees from The Juilliard School, Yale University, and Stony Brook University. He performs on a violin by J.B. Vuillaume and a bow by Edwin Clement.
