Guest Workshop: Stefon Harris

Stefon Harris is a four-time Grammy-nominated jazz vibraphonist, educator, and thought leader, hailed as 'one of the most important artists in jazz' (Los Angeles Times). A recipient of the Doris Duke Artist Award and the Martin E. Segal Award, Harris has been named Best Mallet Player by the Jazz Journalist Association and Best Vibes Player by DownBeat Magazine. He currently tours with his Grammy-nominated band, Blackout, and has released eleven albums as a leader, collaborating with jazz legends such as Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, and Diana Krall.

In addition to his musical career, Harris is a prominent educator, serving as the Artistic Advisor of Jazz Education at NJPAC and a tenured Associate Professor at Rutgers University. He founded The Melodic Progression Institute and developed the widely-used ear training app, Harmony Cloud. A passionate thought leader, Harris has given transformative corporate presentations, including a popular TED Talk, 'There Are No Mistakes on the Bandstand.' His work bridges the worlds of music, education, and leadership, empowering individuals to find their authentic voices through jazz.
