Steve Reich at 90 | In celebration of the pioneering composer’s 90th birthday, Eastman recently presented an all-Reich program, featuring the Eastman Percussion Ensemble and Musica Nova. Prior to the concert, Professor of Conducting & Ensembles Brad Lubman deemed it an “opportunity to celebrate a composer whose impact extends well beyond the contemporary classical music world,” calling Reich (who was awarded an honorary doctorate from Eastman in 2016!) “one of the most important, influential, and celebrated composers of our time.” Enjoy this clip of Lubman and Musica Nova performing Reich’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Double Sextet
