The Georgetown University Concert Choir (Washington, DC) assisted John Michael Cooper, Professor of Music and holder of the Margarett Root Brown Chair in Fine Arts at Southwestern University (Georgetown, TX), as part of his presentation "Black Feminism, Margaret Bonds, and the Credo of W. E. B. Du Bois," for the Royal Irish Academy of Music’s 2020-21 Online Guest Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Under the direction of Prof. Frederick Binkholder, the ensemble performed selections of a recently assembled score of Bonds’ “Credo,” edited by Dr. Cooper. Program included the work's 1st Movement (“I Believe in God”), 2nd Movement (“Especially do I believe” with soprano soloist Katerina Burton from the Washington National Opera Cafritz Young Artists), and the 7th Movement (“I Believe in Justice”)-- seen here.
