The Turner-Fischer Center for Opera presents the collegiate premiere of Before It All Goes Dark\, a gripping new opera by Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer. This new work follows Gerald “Mac” McDonald\, a Vietnam veteran who discovers the hidden legacy his family left to him...a Jewish heritage and a priceless art collection that was taken from them by the Nazis. Together with a journalist\, he travels to Eastern Europe to retrieve his artistic inheritance and an understanding of his cultural tradition.
