Program: Event Type: Concert,Special Event Open to the Public: Yes Link: This special one-day conference will examine four key aspects: the Significance of sound in Muslim contexts, Oral Tradition and Memorization, Music Education in Muslim Communities and Understanding Islam through its Art. The day concludes with an evening concert featuring three ensembles performing musical traditions from across the Muslim world. Guest speakers include : Oludamini Ogunnaike, Asad Ali Jafri, Ani Zonneveld, Mehmet Ali Sanlikol, Sami Abu Shumays, Eden Mac-Adam Somer, Samir LanGus, Hasan Imam Hamdani, Jawwad Noor and Aisha Imam.
