Open Sound Check + Q&A with Lucía Goodson Chapel – Recital Hall Faculty Recital Join us for a special faculty recital featuring the extraordinary talents of Chelsea Cushman (mezzo-soprano) and Maja Tremiszewska (piano). This evocative program spans contemporary art song and rarely heard gems of American musical theatre. The recital opens with Jonathan Newman’s Found Postcards, a vivid suite of musical vignettes inspired by real messages from the early twentieth century. Then, delve into the intimate and expressive world of Ricky Ian Gordon’s Late Afternoon, a poignant cycle setting texts by celebrated poets. The evening concludes with a collection of rarely heard works by Stephen Sondheim, shining a light on the overlooked brilliance of selections from Evening Primrose, Hot Spot and the unproduced The Last Resorts. Don’t miss this richly textured journey through memory, emotion and storytelling—brought to life by two masterful interpreters.
