György Kurtág, the last living outstanding European composer of his generation, will be 100 years old on 19 February 2026. In celebration of his birthday, Korean violinist and music scholar Sin Hye Kim and American soprano Ingrid Kammin will discuss and perform from parts of Kurtág’s “Kafka Fragments.” This program will also include performances of new short compositions written in Kurtág’s concise style and overseen by Professor Kay Rhie at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.
