AMERICAN VOICES: ACROSS BORDERS, BEYOND GENRES
CCM Concert Orchestra
Aik Khai Pung, music director and conductor
Featuring faculty artist Rusty Burge, vibraphone
Celebrate the vibrant and creative spirit of today’s American music! This electrifying program brings together voices that transcend boundaries — cultural, stylistic and emotional. Each work offers a fresh perspective on sound and identity, including two world premieres: CCM Professor Kim Pensyl’s Rhapsody blends classical lyricism with jazz-infused energy, performed by faculty artist Rusty Burge; and Hefang Ma’s new work, winner of the 2025 CCM Composition Competition. This is a celebration of innovation and connection — music without borders, from voices that define the future of American sound.
