Event Locator: 2026-ADRNWK
Poiesis Quartet, performers
Jacob Kaplan, lighting design
Co-presented by CCM and Chamber Music Cincinnati
Love Letter is the Cincinnati premiere of the Poiesis Quartet’s Oberlin Commission Project, an initiative to expand the string quartet canon with commissions from five Queer and Trans People of Color (QTPOC) who are all students or alumni of Oberlin Conservatory: Zola Saadi-Klein, Daniel Lasagna, Maya Irizarry Lambright, Max Lang, and Calvin Ray Shawler. This concert marks Poiesis’ final performance as CCM Graduate Quartet-in-Residence and features a special collaboration with Jacob Kaplan from the CCM Lighting Design Department. The Cohen Theater will be illuminated with an immersive lighting display accompanying all five works. The concert will also include brief remarks from three of the composers who will be in attendance.
