Christiana Winds presents their spring concert comprised of 20th and 21st century cornerstones from the wind quintet repertoire. Selections will enthrall the audience with a variety of atmospheres such as exuberant, reflective, and humorous. The program includes: Denes Agay: Five Easy Dances; Adam Vidiksis: Pillars in the Sea; Darius Milhaud: La cheminée du roi René; and Endre Szervánszky: Wind Quintet No. 1. ABOUT THE PERFORMERS An ensemble of five dynamic and brilliant players, Christiana Winds explores the exciting and unique tradition of wind chamber music from the 18th century to the present. In diverse settings from the concert hall to the school classroom, Christiana Winds brings to its audiences the freshness and immediacy of the wind-instrument tradition. As ensemble-in-residence in the University of Delaware School of Music, Christiana Winds performs a variety of music, often with guest artists, and has been active commissioning new works for wind quintet. The members of Christiana Winds are UD faculty artists Eileen Grycky, flute; Erin Banholzer, oboe; Christopher Nichols, clarinet; John David Smith, horn; and Zachary Feingold, bassoon.
