Rennie Harris Puremovement American Street Dance Theater is the leading street dance company in the U.S. For more than thirty five years, the Philadelphia-based ensemble has been dedicated to preserving and sharing hip hop culture through performances, education, and community engagement. Rooted in inner-city experience, Harris and RHPM create works that are powerful, intimate, and authentic, challenging stereotypes and celebrating the true spirit of street dance. Nuttin’ But A Word is a dynamic suite that explores and pushes the boundaries of styles such as Campbell locking, house, hip hop, and B-boying, emphasizing individuality, creativity, and innovation as essential forces for artistic and cultural evolution. Part of American Panorama: Voices of a Nation at 250. Join the audience for a free pre-performance talk by a member of the company in Ramsey Concert Hall prior to the performance from 6:45-7:15 p.m.
