World-class instruction. A culture of mentorship. A stage shared with jazz legends. Go inside the UofL Jazz Studies Program, where students work one-on-one with world-class faculty who've built a program on a simple philosophy: don't create clones — help students become the best versions of themselves. With multiple ensembles for every level of musician, each student has opportunities to share their passion and learn about the deep culture of jazz. Every year, Jazz Fest brings guest artists like John Clayton and Wycliffe Gordon to campus for multi-day residencies, giving students direct, hands-on instruction most college musicians never get access to. As one guest artist put it: "You guys are not dream killers — you're dream enablers."
