Conductor, violinist, and mentor Suzie Collier challenges conventional ideas about performance, self-worth, and success. Experience a sonic deep-dive into the practical and transformative force that is curiosity, and its role in fostering resilience and deepening artistic connection. Bring a listening ear, an open mind, and a willingness to explore! SUZIE COLLIER, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music, is an internationally renowned conductor, violinist, and teacher, celebrated for her exceptional artistry and ability to inspire musicians and audiences alike. Fresh from acclaimed performances with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria featuring Take 6, the Philly Pops alongside Jacob Collier, and the Britten Sinfonia with Jacob and Chris Thile, Suzie returns to the podium later this year as guest conductor with leading orchestras across the US. She has conducted recording sessions for Jacob Collier’s Grammy-nominated Djesse Vol. 4 album in Amsterdam with the Metropole Orkest, and for Stormzy’s orchestral version of Firebabe at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios. Through her creative platform ‘Suzie Explores’, she hosts immersive retreats for musicians and non-musicians alike, and has recently been a featured guest at Jacob Collier’s Hideaway Retreat. She regularly gives masterclasses at leading institutions including the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Royal Academy of Music, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. She also hosts the *Suzie Explores* podcast, in which she has conversations with world-class musicians about music and life, featuring guests including Quincy Jones, Yo-Yo Ma, Chris Thile, Nicola Benedetti, and Steve Vai. Presented by the Center for World Performance Studies in collaboration with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. Free and open to the public. Seats are first come.
