The University of Michigan Symphony Band closes its season with a very special performance in conjunction with the North Central Division Conference of the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA). Collegiate musicians and teachers from across the Midwest will be in attendance for a concert that includes the talents and music of several U-M faculty members. New music from Composition professors Evan Chambers and Kristin Kuster will be joined by the consortium premiere of a brand new symphony by the lauded Mexican composer Arturo Marquez. All three pieces were made possible by the support of the H. Robert Reynolds Commissioning Fund. On the stage, the Symphony Band will collaborate for the first time with distinguished artists-in-residence at SMTD, the award-winning Telegraph string quartet.
