Talented high school singers from across the region will compete in the Schmidt Vocal Competition Utah Regional, hosted by the University of Utah. This one-day event includes two live rounds of classical voice performance and a master class with top voice professionals, including Professors Julie Wright-Costa and Kirstin Chávez from the University of Utah.
Schmidt Vocal Arts will award up to $8,000 in total cash prizes at the competition. All finalists are eligible for a $4,000 matching scholarship to attend the University of Utah. The top three singers may also qualify for additional need-based scholarships and will advance to the Schmidt Vocal Competition High School Nationals for a chance to win up to $10,000.
The competition is free and open to the public—a great opportunity to hear exceptional young talent and learn more about the University of Utah’s music program.
