Experience an evening of rhythm, energy, and artistry as the award-winning University of Utah Percussion Ensemble and Utah Percussion Group take the stage alongside select high school percussion ensembles bringing together artists and students from across Utah for a dynamic celebration of rhythm, color, and creativity in the percussive arts.
Audiences will experience a wide spectrum of music for percussion—from classical masterworks to contemporary innovations, from the vibrant pulse of non-Western traditions to the improvisatory spirit of jazz-influenced repertoire. The program highlights the depth and versatility of percussion as a medium for expression, crossing stylistic and cultural boundaries with imagination and flair.
The concert will culminate in a mass percussion performance, bringing together all participating ensembles in a powerful and unifying finale—a “percussion band” of more than fifty performers on stage, celebrating the shared joy of rhythm and sound.
