About the Artist A versatile trumpeter based in New Orleans, Ashlin Parker is sought after for soloing, section work, and community building. He has played with ensembles at music festivals, clubs, and concert halls in Australia, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, the Caribbean, North and South America, and across Europe. Parker leads the Trumpet Mafia, tours regularly with Dumpstaphunk and The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, and has upcoming tours in 2025: 'Louis' with Wynton Marsalis and Cecile Lacad and 'Might Not Make It Home' with Dumpstaphunk and Trombone Shorty. He has played with a host of notable musicians, including Ellis Marsalis, Ivan Neville, Jon Batiste, Dave Matthews, and Dr. John, among many others. Parker has played on more than 30 albums with other musicians; he is featured on albums with Jason Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, Tiffany Austin, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, U2, Elton John, and Trombone Shorty, among other luminaries. He is the producer of Trumpet Mafia Plays the Music of Ellis Marsalis (forthcoming 2025). Parker has taught private lessons and led master classes at many high schools, colleges, and universities throughout the United States, Switzerland, and Australia. He has served as a teacher in such jazz camps as the National Jazz Workshop, JazzArts Charlotte Summer Music Camp, Nash Summer Camp, and he leads the Jazz Cat summer camp in Ascona, Switzerland. He serves as professor of practice at Tulane University. Honors include sharing in the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble for the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra's Book One. Trumpet Mafia won OffBeat Magazine's 2017 Best of the Beat Award: Emerging Artist of the Year. Parker won the French Quarter Fest Inc. 2018 Spirit of Satchmo Award. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Shenandoah University Conservatory and the Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of New Orleans.
