Dr. James Naigus, Lecturer of Horn at the University of Georgia, performs from Richard Strauss's Horn Concerto No. 1, Op. 11. One of the most frequently performed horn concertos from the 19th century, Strauss composed two versions, one for piano (or toy piano!) accompaniment, and one for orchestra. The version with piano premiered in 1883 in Munich, and the orchestral version premiered two years later.
