Serena Scibelli (DMA Perf '18) and Tereska Grynia (DMA Perf '18) perform an excerpt from the 1st movement of Louis Spohr's Duo Concertante in D Major, Op. 39. Spohr (1784--1859) was a highly regarded composer, violinist, and conductor in his lifetime, and is also remembered today for his invention of the violin chinrest and the orchestral rehearsal mark, both of which are now standard tools in music performance. Serena and Tereska both completed their DMA in Violin Performance in 2018 in the studio of Professor Levon Ambartsumian. Serena is now Faculty at the University of North Georgia, instructing in violin, viola, chamber orchestra, and music appreciation, and plays with the Atlanta Opera and South Carolina Philharmonic. Tereska is finishing her Performer's Diploma at Southern Methodist University, working for the Coppell Conservatory, and playing in the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra.
